Conservation Activity -- Friday, May 27th, 2 p.m.

Good evening. I finally have the information for the conservation activity for the Pack. I realize it may be difficult to attend being that it is on a Friday in the middle of the day. I can drive 4 scouts in addition to my son. If anyone else can attend, then hopefully we can arrange some type of carpool situation.

Here is the information for the Bluff Lake Nature Center:

Bluff Lake Nature Center is right beside the Sand Creek Regional Greenway, near the Denver/Aurora border.

Driving directions from I-70: Take the Havana exit going south. Turn left (south) at the light off of the exit ramp. Go through the four-way stop at Smith Road. Go through the light at Martin Luther King Boulevard. Turn left (east) at the next light onto 29th Drive. Go through the light at Iola Street and follow the road as it curves to the right. The entrance to Bluff Lake is a half a mile down the curvy road on the left (north) side of the road.

A map and more information can be found on their website: http://www.blufflakenaturecenter.org/visit08.htm

Each Scout will need to have their parent/guardian sign and bring the attached waiver with them the day of the event.

Let me know if you have any questions. Hope to see as many of you there as possible.

News and Announcements

**Our T-shirt drawings are being judged and will hopefully have a decision very soon. Please send your son's shirt size to Aleecia so she can order the summer t-shirts for the boys.

**Every year in scouts, the boys should be doing a conservation project. Thank you to Randy Padal, who found information on a community urban garden right in Reunion that the boys might be able to help with. For more information on the garden, please look at www.heartlandurbangardens.org

**Thank you to Aleecia, Mike and Randy for attending the BALLOO training the last weekend in April. Because of their dedication, the boys will be able to do a campout this summer! More information will follow.

**Please don't forget that our committee meetings are open to ALL! Cub Scouts is a great program, but we can't do it without your help. We have several volunteers, but we are still looking for more. We need to fill some Committee spots, as well as Den Leaders for the boys next year. Please contact Aleecia if you are interested in helping out in any way.

**We are still awaiting our Re-Charter for next year. Once we have that taken care of, we will plan our next Committee Meeting and will plan for a Crossover Ceremony for the boys. This is an important step in Scouting and we are looking forward to making it fun for the boys.

**From the Treasurer... Our funds right now are at approx $900. This is from all of the popcorn sales we did last fall. Our funds go towards things like getting the badges/belt loops/pins/patches for the Scouts, as well as paying for things like our Pinewood Derby, Blue & Gold banquet and more.
